This whole track sounds a bit muddy to me so I think it most instruments would benefit from a brighter EQ. Besides that, I was completely immersed in it. What a cool and unexpected piece of music. You had me hypnotized.

RedMongoose responds:

Thank you very much. I do need to work on my mixing, I didn't really do at all for this song, sorry about that, time restraints etc.

I agree that this could use a little less compression as this isn't the super modern/refined type of metal. The vocals also sound a bit drowned in the mix. I feel at least in the choir the should be a bit brighter/louder/in your face. Besides that, it sounds great. Pretty cool track and guitar playing, both rhythm and lead. May I ask what that guitar tone is?

TSRBand responds:

Thanks for the review! I use Bias FX from Positive Grid for guitar tones :)

Pretty cool hearing metal tracks in here! Especially with the low range on the guitar. Congrats, as I can imagine the all work writing and recording all the parts must have been. Really like the orchestral intro/outro and arrangements during the song. Would love to hear your work with better samples/production quality for those!

Nekro-Kitty responds:

Thank you; I am really glad you liked it.
One of these days I will gain access to better orchestral samples; also I will learn FL studio a bit better. I am sort of unfamiliar with the program, but I am getting there.

Such a cool atmospheric sound! Which works well on its own, but you also managed to create intricate rhythm elements over it, like the build-up to the second section. I really like that contrast. As far as the 16th note runs you have at the end, it depends on how you look at them. They are phrases in which the 16th is the smallest subdivision but it isn't a strict 16th note run since you have other rhythmic value in the prase. BUT that is all talk and specifics for the challenge which, while interesting, is irrelevant considering it sounds good, especially the counterpoint at 02:14 when you combine both phrases.

Beautiful melodies and harmonies that shine with your great playing. I really like the ascending phrases at 00:37. Also pretty cool use of percussion too.

As someone said before, this is face-melting. Pretty cool hearing how you keep a simple idea interesting for a while with the building/dropping of instruments, creative use of samples and the wide panning of the drums/percussion. Great work!

Quarl responds:

Thank you Mr galletti :)

This grooves hard! Pretty cool development on the motif all the way through. I particularly liked the frantic lines in the beginning and ending sections. Production-wise I think you could try adding a bit more reverb as some of the lead instruments sounded a bit dry. Great track!

I'm looking for game devs to collaborate with! If you like my music don't hesitate to contact me.
